Go to the homepage or dashboard, paste your document text in the "Paste Text" tab or upload a file in the "Upload File" tab, then click "Analyze Now." Results typically appear in 15-45 seconds depending on document length.
Currently we support English-language documents only. Multi-language support is on our roadmap.
No. LegalSimpler is a first-pass analysis tool that helps you understand your documents. For high-value contracts, important legal decisions, or jurisdiction-specific advice, always consult a qualified lawyer.
We support PDF (.pdf), Microsoft Word (.docx), and plain text (.txt) files. You can also paste text directly without uploading a file.
Free plan: 5 MB per file, 50K characters for paste. Pro: 15 MB, 200K characters. Business: 30 MB, 500K characters. Anonymous analysis: 2 MB, 20K characters.
Scanned PDFs may work if they contain embedded OCR text. Pure image-based scans without text extraction will not produce results. For best results, use native digital PDFs or copy-paste the text directly.
Password-protected PDFs cannot be processed. Remove the password protection before uploading, or paste the text content directly.

Yes. Shared links work for anyone — recipients don't need a LegalSimpler account to view the analysis.
Yes. Documents are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Per-user access controls ensure your documents are never visible to other users or our team.
No. We have a strict no-training policy. Your documents are never used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI models. They are processed solely for generating your analysis.
Uploaded files are stored encrypted and automatically deleted after 30 days. You can delete them immediately from the analysis page. Pasted text is processed in memory and never written to disk.
Only you. Documents are protected by per-user access controls. Our support team cannot access your documents. AI providers process the text content but do not retain it.

We accept all major credit cards via Stripe. Payments are processed securely — we never see or store your card details.

Go to Dashboard > Settings > Account and click "Delete Account." All your data — documents, analyses, personal info — will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
Individual analyses can be exported as PDF from the analysis page. For a full data export (all analyses, account data), contact support@legalsimpler.com with the subject "Data Export Request."
