- 30-day money-back guarantee: Not satisfied with a Pro or Business subscription? Request a full refund within 30 days of purchase.
- Cancel anytime: You keep access until the end of your billing period. After 30 days, no partial refunds for unused time.
- Single analysis ($2.99): No refund once the analysis has been processed. If the analysis fails due to a technical error on our side, we'll credit you.
- How to request: Email support@legalsimpler.com with your account email and reason. We respond within 48 hours.
1. 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all Pro and Business subscriptions (both monthly and annual). If you are not satisfied with the Service for any reason, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase date.
To be eligible for a refund under the money-back guarantee:
- The refund request must be submitted within 30 days of the initial purchase.
- The guarantee applies to first-time purchases of a given plan. Renewal charges after the first billing cycle are subject to Section 2 below.
2. Subscription Plans (Pro & Business) — After 30 Days
All subscription plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually). You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard (Settings > Subscription).
Upon cancellation after the 30-day money-back window:
- Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period.
- You retain full access to all paid features until the period expires.
- No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.
- Your account reverts to the Free plan after the billing period ends.
3. Single Analysis Purchases ($2.99)
Single analysis purchases are non-refundable once the analysis has been processed and results delivered. This includes analyses where:
- The document was successfully analyzed and results were generated.
- The analysis produced fewer sections than expected due to document content (e.g., no risks found).
We will issue a credit or refund if:
- The analysis failed due to a technical error on our side (server error, processing failure).
- The analysis produced no output at all due to a system malfunction.
4. Free Plan
The Free plan has no associated charges and therefore no refund policy applies.
5. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, email support@legalsimpler.com with:
- Your account email address
- The reason for your refund request
- Your purchase date (if applicable)
We aim to respond to all refund requests within 48 hours. Approved refunds are processed within 5-10 business days and returned to the original payment method.
6. Chargebacks
We encourage you to contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card provider. Chargebacks incur processing fees and may result in immediate account suspension. We are happy to resolve any billing issues directly.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this refund policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
